About Speldhurst Parish History Society
SPHS was founded in 2021 with a mission to help protect the history of the four villages in Speldhurst Parish, and to enhance where possible information gathered from many sources close to and far from home.

At Speldhurst Parish History Society, we take a hands-on approach to archaeology. Our team of experts work closely with volunteers to explore, excavate and preserve local historical sites. We believe that by engaging with the community, we can raise awareness about the importance of our shared heritage and inspire future generations to continue this work.
Our Story
Speldhurst Parish History Society was founded in 1999 by a group of passionate locals who wanted to explore the rich history of the area. Since then, we have grown into a thriving community of volunteers, experts and enthusiasts dedicated to preserving and promoting our heritage. We have worked on various projects, from uncovering Roman villas to excavating medieval churches, and we are always looking for new ways to uncover the secrets of the past.
